I hopped off the District Line at Stamford Brook to be greeted by two uniformed police officers, and a third with a large Alsatian on a lead, striding purposefully up the platform to join two further colleagues in attending the scene, I overheard a Tube chap saying, of an altercation between some passengers, one of whom had trodden on the foot of another and, you know, hot weather, things get out of hand. Not only were the two sub-bridge transports needed, obviously, but the empty estate and the dog van snapped subsequently had clearly also been required to bring the five officers plus dog to the party.
